Adobe Advertising Analytics: frequently asked questions

Answers to common Adobe Advertising Analytics questions: SKUs, cost, server calls, supported search engines, tracking modes and reporting latency.

Quick answer

Advertising Analytics brings impression, click and cost data from Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising into Adobe Analytics so paid search can be analysed with on-site behaviour. It is available with Analytics Select, Prime and Ultimate, does not incur server calls and is set up from the Analytics Admin menu. Answers here summarise Adobe's documentation; confirm current details there.

Do I need to be an Adobe Advertising customer to use Advertising Analytics?

No. Adobe's FAQ says it is available to non-Advertising customers; Adobe Advertising customers can use the existing Analytics and Advertising integration.

Which Adobe Analytics SKUs include Advertising Analytics?

Adobe lists Analytics Select, Prime and Ultimate.

Does Advertising Analytics cost extra?

Outside the required SKU provisioning, Adobe states there is no extra cost.

Does it count against server calls?

Adobe states it uses a special data source type that does not incur server call costs.

Can Adobe Advertising customers still use it?

Yes. Compatible search engine accounts appear read-only; edits happen in Adobe Advertising.

I have the right SKU but cannot access it. Why?

It is available to Analytics administrators, who can grant access to other users.

Which search engines are supported?

Adobe's FAQ identifies Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising.

Where do I find Advertising Analytics?

In Adobe Analytics, go to Admin and select Advertising Analytics to add search engine accounts.

How is the data collected?

Adobe uses custom APIs to pass search-engine data through Adobe Advertising into Adobe Analytics.

When does search data appear in reports?

Expect at least 24 hours before search-engine data starts populating reports.

Will Display or Social be added?

Adobe's FAQ says there are no current roadmap plans for those channels.

What can go wrong with Auto Tracking?

Auto Tracking appends parameters to tracking templates or landing URLs; how your web server handles parameters and special characters may need extra configuration.

Can I switch between manual and automatic tracking?

Yes. Remove old tracking logic first; switching can cause tracking downtime and automatic codes can take several hours to populate.

Can I break down advertising data by other Analytics dimensions?

Yes. Paid-search data is analysed in Analysis Workspace alongside Analytics dimensions and metrics.

What is captured before the click?

Impressions, clicks and cost from supported search engines, along with AMO ID instances.
